What to expect

Are you ready for something to change?

Have you spent years putting other people's needs before your own?

Perhaps you've become the peacekeeper in your relationships—the one who keeps everything running smoothly, avoids conflict, and makes sure everyone else is okay. From the outside, you may seem as though you're coping well. Inside, it can feel very different.

You might find yourself struggling with anxiety, second-guessing your decisions, worrying about disappointing people, or feeling exhausted from carrying so much responsibility. You may know something needs to change, but have no idea how to do things differently.

That's where counselling can help. I provide a safe, confidential space for therapy with practices based in both St Albans and Bushey, helping you unpack these feelings without judgment.

High-Functioning Anxiety & Relationship Patterns: How I work

I’m Rita, and I help people develop a deeper understanding of themselves so they can break free from stuck patterns. Together, we'll explore the different parts of you that have developed over the years—the roles you've taken on, the ways you've learned to protect yourself, and the masks you may have worn to navigate relationships and life's challenges.

Many of these patterns began for good reasons; they may have helped you feel safe, accepted, or needed. But over time, they can leave you feeling disconnected from yourself and unsure of what you truly want or need.

As we work together—whether at my St Albans or Bushey therapy rooms (or online)—new possibilities start to emerge. You can begin making choices that feel more authentic, develop healthier relationships, and find ways of living that don't depend on constantly putting yourself last.

My Journey & Professional Qualifications

My own journey into this work began with a curiosity about relationships, particularly my own. I wanted to understand why certain patterns repeat themselves and what helps people create meaningful change in their lives. That curiosity led me to study Psychology, and eventually to train as a psychosynthesis counsellor and psychotherapist.

Today, I bring together both professional training and lived experience to support individuals across South Hertfordshire who want to understand themselves more deeply and create lasting change.

  • Qualifications: Qualified Counsellor, currently in my final year at the Institute of Psychosynthesis, working towards my Psychotherapy Diploma.
  • Professional Bodies: Registered member of the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP), British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), and Association for Psychospiritual Practitioners (APP).
  • Ethics & Safety: I work strictly in accordance with their professional codes of ethics and attend regular clinical supervision to ensure I offer safe, ethical, and effective support.

Ready to take the Next Step?

If you're tired of always being the one who keeps the peace, puts themselves last, or carries the weight of everyone else's needs, therapy can give you the space to discover a different way forward.
